This summer, Massimiliano Allegri is hoping to make another three moves in the mercato for AC Milan, despite his early work.
There is a need for more strike power to arrive soon. It cannot be denied, and Allegri is aware of this, whilst keen to change that. However, the club are working on deals that will not be ready for a while yet, it seems.

Dusan Vlahovic is the obvious one, who would not be likely to join until late August. Then, there are also issues with signing Goncalo Ramos, who is another top target. Both are due to the finances in a deal.
Expectations for Milan
Today, Antonio Vitiello has spoken about the situation and what the expectations of the new coach are, despite pre-season not showing any faults, as he states for MilanNews.
“Allegri is expecting him and, in the meantime, is demonstrating, in a friendly match, that he can handle the material at his disposal. He’s an experienced and seasoned coach, but the squad still needs to be completed between now and September 1st.
“This includes at least three more high-quality signings, in addition to the transfers that still need to be made.”
Considering Santiago Gimenez will not meet his new coach until August, too, it is a risky game to play, leaving it all until the last stages.
Madness. We had the 4th most prolific striker per 90 in Serie A last season in Giminez and that was his first taste of real top league football.
All we need is a backup striker instead of wasting funds on another starting striker
With one game per week, one of those strikers is guaranteed to regress by the end of the season and then we can’t move them on due to decrease in value.
Well I disagree because even back in the days of the 90ies we usually had 3-4 very strong if not worldclass attackers and the Serie A format was 34 matches pr. season + 6 cl group matches + a few more before a potential final. Nowadays we has a league with 38 matches pr. season and this year has a Coppa Italia starting early. We need minimum 2 strong or 3 forwards unless we give one of the kids a promotion that can move between either primavera/futuro and the first team as there is also the chance of misfortune with injuries so we cant only rely on Gimenez even though I think he has a chance of doing well for us.
Competition is always good. + how many strikers we need next season if in CL? Might as well get them in now…
Yeah I think so too as we doesnt only build for this year and if we actually can strike a cheap deal for a player like example Vlahovic on favorable salary terms then I say go for it as he is still young enough to say that he might not yet have peaked.
Ok Martin let’s not confuse attackers with Strikers.. the latter is a sub set. I’m talking specifically strikers here. Even back in the day we had THE ONE baller striker…Van Basten, Weah, Sheva…..when we didn’t have European comps recently…Bacca. AND then you have the supporting cast who are clearly not at the level of the baller striker….you Tommasons, Massaro (?), your Cutrones etc.
My issue is we just got Giminez only 6 months ago as out main striker. Stats-wise he was the best per 90 striker in Serie A in the last 6 months. But here we are going after another seemingly bigger striker in Vlahovic whose goal scoring output under Allegri is suspect to say the least ( 10,6,10,7 in his last four seasons). ONE competition. The supporting cast can easily be Okafor, Colombo, Camarda, if we loaned back Abraham perhaps, heck we still own Morata don’t we? You get my point? We’ve created issues where we don’t Have one. Gimenez should get his chances as well though but competition up front is also important. Tammy is in Turkey now and Colombo in Genoa but sure I also agree they could have offered something but we never owned the Englishman and we would have had to fork up roughly 20 mil for him if I remember correctly.
Allegri is good but he has something ugly on him he prefers sometimes dead wood and let some players burn away like he did in the past, he is sometimes stuck on old Ideas.
Can anyone clarify if Gimenez is suspended for the first two games due to his red card?
I gave it a look at Transfermarkt and he was suspended in the last match against Monza but got the red card in the previous match against AS Roma and it said it lasted until that Monza match so it doesn’t look like it but you had me worried there.

I don’t understand this drama with the striker, for 40 mil(which I don’t believe they will pay) you can’t find at the moment a better striker than Gimenez.Milan should have go for Ferguson or Luca before the others teams got them.We need a solid backup striker and give Gimenez a full season
