AC Milan are entering the vital stages of their managerial search. Stefano Pioli has just two more matches in charge of the side, but then the Rossoneri are without a head coach in their current situation.
Pressure is building for Milan, and it is mounting quickly. In 10 days, the Rossoneri will be left without a head coach, given Pioli is likely to depart after the final game of the season. Whilst this has been a given for some time, there has been little progress made regarding his successor.
Reports earlier today suggested that the Diavolo are in the final stages of the situation, and the shortlist had been whittled down to just a few names. However, this afternoon, Antonio Vitiello reported for Milan News that Mark van Bommel’s chances of being the next manager are increasing.
The 47-year-old has already stated that he will not be Royal Antwerp’s manager next year as he looks for new opportunities, which might be Milan’s cue. With his links to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who holds a key role in the decision, van Bommel holds a strong position.
Van Bommel has several attributes that the management appreciates, and Vitiello’s report suggests that in the past hours, there has been an upsurge in his chances. Additionally, Paulo Fonseca also remains a strong candidate.

I’m now resigned to living in the hope that they’ve been holding out for the end of Sampdoria’s season in the hope that Pirlo can be to Milan what De Rossi has been to Roma. Not just a good coach, who can instill some heart, but also a buffer between the fans and ownership / management.
Maldini is alleged to have already attempted to hire Pirlo. His season with Juventus was not that bad when you have account of the transition in game style. Tifo did a video explaining that the statistical metrics were generally good. Samp came good in the second half of the Serie B season albeit too late. They were up against it in a sudden death match away to Palermo which has one of the better Serie B squads.
Van is the right man. We need a serial winner and this guy really fits the bill. Together with Ibra, thus pair can make wonders. Not forgetting that our youths will model after Ajax or Dutch model. Both van and ibra are great products of Dutch youths training centre
