Vitiello: €40-50m signing will headline Milan’s summer – two other additions expected

By Oliver Fisher -

The month of April will be crucial for AC Milan as they look to continue their excellent form, with seven wins in a row racked up across all competitions, but there is also an eye on 2024-25.

The next 20 days will say a lot about the future of Milan, given that the two Europa League legs against Roma await as well as the derby against Inter and the away trip to face Juventus.

Head coach Stefano Pioli will end up back under the microscope to see if this recent resurgence will continue against more challenging opponents (on paper), while securing extra prize money will be critical in bumping up the summer budget.

In his latest news column for MilanNews, the well-known journalist Antonio Vitiello has offered some updates on the various objectives that Milan are working on in view of the summer.

“We reiterate a concept that we have been carrying forward for several weeks. Milan’s first big transfer target remains Joshua Zirkzee. Contacts for the 22-year-old striker are continuing, the management is studying how to lower the price and go all-in on the Dutchman,” he said.

“He is the first name, but not the only one. It is clear that they need to have alternatives if the deal for Zirkzee does not go through.

“But the club are aware that to strengthen the attack it will require an investment of 40-50 million, where perhaps it is possible to insert counterparts or bonuses to reduce the distance between request and offer. A midfielder and a defender will also arrive in the summer.”

  1. The budget will be around €70 million. If CDK isn’t sold, the budget will be €50 million and we’ll have to sell a starter. Hopefully the Saudi’s will come in for Bennacer.

  2. Bungi ( CB ) , Fofana ( DMF ) , Zirkzee ( CF ) already enough for next season . All of that three are starter material . Fofana only cost 20-25m euro ( monaco asking price 30m euro but can be negotiate due to fofana contract only left 1 years next summer so basically 20m euro + add on 5m euro already enough). Bungi torino captain want to move bigger club in italy not foreign club so ACM and IM have advantage because he dont want juve due to respect for torino fan ( Offer 20m euro + add on 5-7m euro + colombo or pobega already fair offer for torino maybe can give them pelegrino for bungi replacement as bonus too ) . The hardest to buy are JZ because bologna need to pay Bayern 40% resale, there is two route : first route Bayern activate buy back 40m euro for JZ and ACM give Bayern mike maignan or tomori ( Bayern lose 40% percentage resale value for JZ if activate buyback) . The second route offer bologna 40m euro + saladmaker ( not sure if bologna want to accept 40m euro or accept saladmaker but bologna also like ballo toure so maybe ACM can give them BLT), if ACM choose second route then all cost for that 3 player should be 40m euro + 20m euro + 20m euro total 80m euro ( still not include add on )
