CM: Milan target ‘ready’ to leave Brazil for Europe but price and competition are obstacles

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are in the market for a new striker ahead of the summer with Vitor Roque among the targets, and now the Brazilian has caught some attention with his comments.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Athletico Paranaense striker is considered as one of the biggest talents in Brazilian football and Milan are monitoring his development with interest as they often do when it comes to emerging gems from South America.

“I feel ready to play in Europe. I’m working on it, I want to get there as prepared as possible,” Roque declared yesterday, and there is plenty to suggest that he is given he played in a Copa Libertadores final at just 17 and was in the South American U20 championship with his country.

The teenager believes he is ready for a big leap but the problem for Milan is the competition involved as Barcelona are keen as well as Chelsea, PSG and Atletico Madrid. The Blaugrana in particular want to close the deal as soon as possible for a figure of around €40m, which may well be too high for the Rossoneri.

  1. Let’s face it, never mind the big Spanish / EPL teams, any English Championship side is likely to outbid Milan.
