AC Milan were held to a 1-1 draw by Atalanta this evening, despite creating a lot more dangerous chances than the Bergamo side. And the clash wasn’t without controversy, as a result of a nasty Hans Hateboer challenge.

It was at the start of the second half, in the 48th minute, when Rafael Leao managed to get past Hateboer. The Dutchman responded with a tackle and the Portuguese winger went down, screaming in pain.
Referee Fabio Maresca gave a yellow card to the defender but the replays left most viewers stunned as to why VAR didn’t intervene. Hateboer came in with his studs first and it was a ‘clear connection’ with Leao’s leg.
