Gerard Deulofeu

Watford Observer: Milan rekindle interest in former loan star Deulofeu – Valencia also keen

The name of Gerard Deulofeu is attracting the interest of AC Milan once again, according to a report, after Watford were relegated from the Premier League.

The Hornets will play next season in the second flight of English football again which means they are likely to lose their best performers, and Deulofeu is among them.

Deulofeu joined Milan from Everton in January of 2017 on a six-month loan deal making 18 appearances, scoring four goals and adding three assists. A number of outlets suggested that the deal could be made permanent, but his former club Barcelona swooped in and exercised their buy-back clause.

After struggling for opportunities at the Camp Nou, Deulofeu returned to the Premier League and joined Watford in January 2018, where he has netted 15 goals and added eight assists in 54 games (all competitions) since, as per transfermarkt.

According to reports from the Watford Observer, Deulofeu can leave Watford following their relegation to the Championship and the Rossoneri maintain an interest. However, Valencia are also keen as they have just hired former Watford boss Javi Gracia.
