From England: West Ham willing to pay €35m for Milan target Botman

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan face competition in the race to sign Sven Botman from Lille this summer as West Ham have entered the race, a report claims.

According to reports from the London Evening Standard (via MilanLive), West Ham United have entered the race for Botman because the London club are in the market for a new centre-back and they consider the Dutch defender to be an ideal candidate.

An offer of at least €35m is ready to try to convince both Lille and Botman himself that they want him to be part of their rearguard for the future, and it is a move that could complicate Milan’s plans.

Nonetheless, the Rossoneri have good relations with Lille which should certainly favour a potential positive outcome, but it might be hard to compete with the financial firepower that some of the clubs in England have given the revenues they boost which dwarf those in Serie A.
