Rumours have erupted that Adrien Rabiot could end up at AC Milan one year after being linked, reuniting with Massimiliano Allegri.
Calciomercato.com speak about ‘Rabiot and the rekindled flame with Milan’. In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Frenchman revealed that he still speaks often with Allegri, and with the Rossoneri potentially in need of multiple midfielders it could be the perfect timing.

Rabiot is coming off a season in which he managed to rack up 10 goals and six assists, achieving second place in Ligue 1 with Marseille that thus earned qualification for the next edition of the Champions League.
Is Rabiot to Milan possible?
With the increasingly likely sale of Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City, Milan are looking for a worthy replacement and Rabiot is one of the names that they could turn to, having been linked with him last year too.
Rabiot left Juventus and signed a contract with the team coached by Roberto De Zerbi until June 2026 and receives a salary that – when adding a fixed amount and bonuses linked to individual objectives and the team’s performance – can reach up to €5m net.
Since he is an important part of De Zerbi’s plans and a player with international status, his price tag is yet to be established. Asked about his future and the prospects of a possible contract extension, a couple of weeks ago Rabiot expressed himself to Canal+.
“The Champions League at the Vélodrome? It will be spectacular. Personally, I don’t want to predict what will happen next season. We will sit down for a moment with the president, with Medhi Benatia, to discuss all of this. Experiencing those emotions in the biggest European competition must be the best.”
While waiting to find out Rabiot’s wishes and any moves by Milan, it is worth remembering that between Marseille and the Rossoneri there is another issue to be addressed and resolved in the coming weeks: Ismael Bennacer.
The Algerian was loaned to Marseille last January with an option to buy set at €12m. It is a figure that the French club deem too high, and at Milan the feeling is growing that from July 1st Bennacer could be an additional player available to the new coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Every other target has made sense. This doesn’t NOT. We need warriors in this team. Player who will actually fight to win til the 90th minute, not the midfield version of Leao. Rabiot is lazy, horrible defensively, and doesn’t offer near enough going forward to justify his wages. On top of that, as we’ve all been pointing out forever now, we don’t need yet another box to box midfielder. Ricci and Frendrup will be far better signings
Rabiot has always been notorious for his work rate. He is a warrior and good defensively as well. People are letting their view of his personality cloud how they see Rabiot as a footballer. Allegri likes Rabiot, and Allegri wants warriors

I remember Rabiot to be a physical presence in midfield, the kind Allegri obviously likes. Contributes offensively, is better than Reijnders defensively, experienced.

Rabiot would be a very good addition to the team. Experienced, strong, can defend and most importantly not on high salary.
Why not Ricci and Frendup. Sure upgrades on the current crop of ‘defensive’ midfielders we have. With Frendup you have defensive cover for the next 6 to 8 yrs.
