Ismael Bennacer seemed to be heading towards renewing his contract with AC Milan without any issues, but there has reportedly been a slowdown.
Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) report that Bennacer reached an agreement with the Milan management a couple of months ago over the extension of his contract. It would see him go from €1.5m net per season as his current deal until 2024 dictates to €3.5m net until June 2026.
However, the rumours about the change of ownership arose and the negotiation stopped as Bennacer’s entourage blocked any further talks with the hope of being able to obtain better economic conditions with the arrival of the new owners.
Then, winning the Scudetto is an element that his agents believe deserves substantial recognition. Discussions for the renewal of Bennacer’s contract with Milan will have to resume, but the feeling is that a raised bid up to around €4m net per season will be needed to snatch his approval.

I love Bennacer, great baller BUT. Just like the comments above, it’s just stalled bc he wants money and we don’t want to give it to him just like with Leao.. I taught we would start something from here on but no, another 0 transfer next summer for Leao
Theo resigned for 4.5 and Theo is among the best in his position in the world. I Like Bennacer but he isn’t on Theo’s level when it comes to importance to the team. He was mostly a back up and towards the end of the season he even got passed by in the pecking order by Rade Krunic. 3.5 mil is a reasonable amount. If he doesn’t like it he can follow Kessie out of the door. With Renato Sanches coming in on top of Pobega and Adli , Bennacer will continue to be back up
I waiting to see Adli in action. Maybe after the first friendly and he hits the ground running, bennacer will realize, this is the place to be. If not, man U should pay up: 50M will sign us CDK
