Wigan defender Robinson breaks silence on ‘crazy’ situation after Milan move collapsed

By Oliver Fisher -

Wigan defender Antonee Robinson has reflected on a ‘crazy couple of days’ after his move to AC Milan fell through.

Widespread reports emerged on Thursday evening suggesting that Milan and Wigan had agreed a fee for the USA international, with left-back Ricardo Rodriguez having completed a move to PSV Eindhoven earlier in the day.

Robinson then travelled to Milano on Friday morning to complete a dream deadline day move, undergoing both his medical and physical checks before heading to the club’s Casa Milan headquarters.

However, rumours began to emerge suggesting the move had hit the rocks, and Wigan then released a statement on their official website confirming that Robinson would be staying.

Robinson had remained silent on the situation until now, but he posted on social media after Wigan’s 1-0 win over Leeds on Saturday.

“Been a mad couple of days but whats done is done. Couldn’t get a better pick me up than @JoeWilliams0812 spooning in a corner and the boys winning away at Leeds, well played lads,” he said.
