Zamparini: “Milan will have to pay €25m for Vazquez”

By Isak Möller -

Maurizio Zamparini is at his old tricks again. Speaking on radio about his team, the Palermo owner confirmed that Milan will have to pay through the nose for star midfielder Franco Vazquez.

“I’ve read of Roma in the papers,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss, “but I know that Milan like him too.”

“The Rossoneri are held up however, by their negotiations with the Chinese consortium.”

“If Juve are paying €25 million for Domenico Berardi, then that’ll be Vazquez’s price. He’ll be the best playmaker in Europe in two years’ time”.

Zamparini went on to confirm that he’s set to change who runs the club (“Rino Foschi will be my director of sport”) and that he’s interested in other coaches, despite incumben Davide Ballardini going as far as to save the Rosanero and keep them in Serie A this season, after a far-from-auspicious start.

“Oddo is a great coach, but I haven’t contacted him. I like Stellone, too”.

The Palermo owner even spoke of the talent at the Renzo Barbera. “We wanted Tonelli too, he’s one of Italy’s best defenders, but Empoli were asking for too much”.

“Palermo’s new goalkeeper will be Posavec, he’s phenomenal. He’ll be the best after Donnarumma.”
