CorSera: Zaniolo asks Roma not to play him – what is missing to close deal with Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Nicolo Zaniolo wants to join AC Milan this month but a deal is not yet close to being completed with Roma, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via PianetaMilan) writes how Milan have six days at their disposal to make their dream of signing Zaniolo come true, and in turn give Roma the chance to sign Hakim Ziyech as his replacement.

Zaniolo is pushing for a move to the extent that he asked Roma – through his agent Claudio Vigorelli – not to be used in matches between now and the window closing. The Giallorossi want to sell the 23-year-old but they are asking for €35m, while Milan have offered a €2-3m loan with an obligation to buy at €18m in case of Champions League qualification.

Zaniolo has offers from Tottenham and Newcastle in the Premier League so the Rossoneri will have to raise their bid, while the owners would like an exit first such as Tiémoué Bakayoko or even the idea of including Junior Messias in the Zaniolo deal.

Roma want Zaniolo to make a call on his future otherwise from February 1st they could have a demotivated player whose deal would be 12 months from expiry in the summer.

    1. Messias for sure. I still believe in Rebic’s capabilities and quality, is Pioli the one that doesn’t know how to use him in the best way.
