MN: Ziyech chooses Roc Nation – the current state of negotiations with Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking to sign both a playmaker and a right winger this summer and Hakim Ziyech could well be the latter, a report claims.

MilanNews reports that while work is being done to sign Charles De Ketelaere for the No.10 role, the management are also working on a player for the right side of the attack who is similar to Ziyech in terms of mould, if not the Moroccan himself.

However, the former Ajax star does not want to lower his salary at the moment and the fact that he has moved to Roc Nation as an agency could be a key part of the story as it is the same agency that oversaw Romelu Lukaku’s move to Inter.

Ziyech has to give up something in terms of salary, as he gets €6m net per season at the moment, and if Chelsea do not contribute to the payment of part of it then there could be complications.

Milan will pay up to €4-4.5m per year but eventually their internal salary ceiling must be revised upwards because the valuable players get paid and that is what is needed in order to take the next step in Europe.

  1. Milan will pay up to €4-4.5m per year but eventually their internal salary ceiling must be revised upwards because the valuable players get paid and that is what is needed in order to take the next step in Europe.

THIS. Will Elliot/Investcorp ever sanction this? I don’t think so. So will we become a top club in EU. If they don’t we won’t quite simply.

    Hopefully they do.

    1. Investcorp? The funds that cannot even raise money for takeover? Probably not.

As for Redbird, the plan seems to be gradual increase subject to the marketing income performance.

      1. Redbird is organizing fundraisers to get the money, they don’t have even nearly enough for this purchase without loans and fundraisers. Investcorp manages 6 times more assets. Even you can understand who can come up with the money easier.

  2. “Milan will pay up to €4-4.5m per year but eventually their internal salary ceiling must be revised upwards because the valuable players get paid and that is what is needed in order to take the next step in Europe.“ FINALLY THIS WAS FKN SAID lol. I have been saying this forever, It’s not rocket science. If you want TOP players you have to PAY them. Period. Wake up Redbird/Elliot. We are in for a rude awakening in a few years time with Mike, Theo, Tonali, Kalulu, Tomori, etc….(Leao now) – they will all want to be paid market value. We cannot continue to operate under a wage ceiling of 4.5M IF (and the key word is “IF”) we want to become an elite club again competing for CL titles every season.

  3. Well said man. No champions league success for us as long as we have a wage ceiling. Quality players cost a lot, n, if you have one that’s willing to come, then, you have to be ready to bulge.
