CorSport: Bayern Munich evaluating €100m move for Milan star – the details

By Ben Dixon -

AC Milan are looking to invest in several areas this summer, with the plan to re-invigorate their squad. However, other clubs are looking to do the same, and Bayern Munich are eyeing up a move for one of the Rossoneri’s star players.

This season has offered no guarantees for several players, but interest in many has remained high, and that is the case for Theo Hernandez, who has been a shining light on several occasions this season and has largely remained at the heart of the few positives of Milan’s season.

As reported earlier this year, the Diavolo will not rule out a Tonali-like sale in the summer. However, who that could be is still unknown, with several players linked with moves away from the club.

Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports that it could be Theo, though, given talks this morning about Bayern’s interest in his services have been on the rise. It stems from Real Madrid’s interest in Alphonso Davies, who has no interest in renewing with the German side, and they could sell the Canadian this summer.

If this were to happen, the Bavarians would knock for Hernandez without question and be prepared to match the valuation that Milan placed on him – €100 million, a fee which the Rossoneri could not return to the sender.

    1. If we wanna buy world class players, management must sell world class player to fund all of best signing possible.

      1. Good idea, it worked so well last summer. Giroud and Kjaer are already leaving, what a relief they’re so old it’s a miracle they can even walk. Then we can sell Théo, Mike, Leao, Tomori, Calabria, Bennacer and launch Football Manager or whatever software they use for Moneyball© to find the next Reijnders, who doesn’t know how to defend and scores every six months, or the next Pellegrino.

      2. Tonali isn’t world class quality but he get sold in world class price, did any world class player arrived after that?

  1. Bayern didn’t have the slightest problem splashing 80 millions for his brother back in 2019 so I wouldn’t call this impossible.

If they come with 90 + bonuses, they will take it.

  2. Unpopular opinion Theo is a liability on the defensive end, his press is sloppy and his lapses in marking are a big reason why Milan give up such soft goals. I’d accept 90M+ and buy Calafiori (I really like him, big fast and technical).

  3. I doubt Theo leaves, because of Zoe, her businesses and their kid. Don’t see them uprooting. But who knows….

Also if Theo matures a little more, he could take over the captain armband.

    1. It’s all rumors at this point, so I don’t know how much we should pay attention, but it also depends if the club is willing to meet Theo’s demands for a much higher wage.
Despite his ups and downs, Theo is in the converstation for the best Left-Back in the world, and I think he would want a much higher salary.
