AD: Groningen’s 25-year-old chief scout set to join Milan – the details

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will soon add to their team of scouts as Wes Beuvink will begin work in the department from the beginning of next month, according to a report.

As AD in the Netherlands reports, it is not just players that are the subject of interest from top clubs but also talented executives and staff members, a category which Wes Beuvink falls into as ‘a wonderful example’.

The 25-year-old scout will leave FC Groningen for AC Milan from April 1 as per the source. Beuvink has been working for FC Groningen since 2019 and has been head of scouting since 2020.

It is striking that in recent years there has been some criticism of the club’s signing policy, especially given that they were relegated to the second division last season, though season they are competing for promotion back to the top flight.

At the time, Beuvink arrived at Groningen without any experience in scouting. The Dutch side picked him up after he stood out on social media with player analyses.

However, Geoffrey Moncada – the chief scout and technical director at Milan – has clearly seen something in him and he will now become part of the Rossoneri’s operations from the start of next months.

  1. Meh, he’s just a pawn…most likely he’ll provide initial analysis that will be used to limit the nr of young players that we consider from the Netherlands and possibly Scandinavian countries.
Time will tell whether he will do a great job, so far he’s an underling
