Adli says ‘angry’ Milan want to bounce back vs. Roma: “We are strong”

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of the game between AC Milan and Roma this evening, Yacine Adli spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on the task at hand. He made it very clear that the Rossoneri are determined to bounce back after the Coppa Italia exit.

Adli started on the bench in Milan’s defeat against Atalanta and only came on towards the end of the game. This time out, however, he’s in the starting XI and will play in the No.6 role alongside Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tijjani Reijnders.

Speaking to MilanTV ahead of the game, as cited by MilanNews, Adli explained what will be needed from Milan to claim all three points. He also stated that the Rossoneri are ‘angry’ after the defeat to Atalanta, eager to prove themselves tonight.

What do you want to prove after the defeat against Atalanta?

“We’re angry, we wanted to do well in the Cup and we didn’t succeed, now we’re thinking about the league and then the Europa League. We want to win as many games as possible, we can do it but we’ll have to play well every time.”

What kind of game do you expect tonight?

“We know them well and we have struggled sometimes, but we are strong. Roma will want to score points, but we want to win tonight and we will try to do so until the end in front of our wonderful crowd.”

Roma have only won one of their last five league games and it’s clear that Milan are the favourites tonight. Not to mention that San Siro is sold out, which should make for a great atmosphere underneath the floodlights.

  1. Great game by Adli. MOTM. His best game for Milan. No defensive failures, great passing, lovely score. I’ve been criticizing Adli and won’t apologize for it because even a broken clock is right twice a day, but yes, I do acknowledge that Adli was rather perfect today. Well done, Adli! Keep it up and prove me wrong about you! Forza Adli, Forza Milan.
