Tuttosport: Asensio close to leaving Real Madrid but fee and wages are a problem for Milan

By Euan Burns -

Marco Asensio is close to leaving Real Madrid this summer but the finances make it hard for AC Milan to buy him, a report claims.

As has been reported by Tuttosport today (via Milan News), the Spanish midfielder is on the brink of leaving Real Madrid as the club are set to tell his agent that they will not be offering him a new contract.

That means that he and Jorge Mendes are actively seeking a new club for the 26-year-old player and Milan’s interest in him is well known.

The issue for the Rossoneri is that they cannot afford to pay his transfer fee which will likely be €25 million and his current salary at Los Blancos which is €7 million per season.

Asensio is one of many names linked with Milan who can improve their quality and depth in the attacking third, along with the likes of Charles De Ketelaere and Paulo Dybala.
