Atalanta handed boost as striker who scored brace against Milan returns

Ademola Lookman has recovered from his injury and will be called up for the clash against AC Milan, as confirmed by the Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini. Bad news for the Rossoneri, given how it went in the reverse fixture.

After losing their last two games, 4-2 against Monza and 3-2 against Stade Rennes, Milan will be looking to bounce back with a win on Sunday evening. Atalanta are just seven points behind and with one game in hand as well, so it is more or less needed.

During today’s press conference (via Calciomercato.com), Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini confirmed that Ademola Lookman has recovered and will be called up for the game. Bad news for Milan, given that he scored a brace in the reverse fixture.

“Lookman? Even without him, it went very well and this gives us some guarantees but his return is a further reinforcement. He did his first training session with the group yesterday, the pain has reduced a lot, and he’s ready for tomorrow,” he stated.

As per the latest reports, though, the 26-year-old will not play from the first minute. Instead, it will be Charles De Ketelaere up front along with Aleksey Miranchuk. Stefano Pioli, meanwhile, will field Malick Thiaw from the first minute again after the disaster against Monza.
