Di Marzio: Former Milan goalkeeper Tatarusanu to join Saudi Arabian club

By Isak Möller -

Ciprian Tatarusanu’s contract with AC Milan expired at the start of the summer and the goalkeeper has since been looking for a new club. By the looks of it, he will make the move to Saudi Arabia.

Milan decided now to renew Tatarusanu’s contract at the end of this past season, securing the services of Marco Sportiello on a free transfer instead. For the Rossoneri, the Romanian goalkeeper made a total of 37 appearances over three years.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Tatarusanu has reached an agreement with the Saudi Arabian club Abha Club on a two-year deal worth €1.8m net per season. He will undergo the medical tests today and then be announced.

During his time at Milan, the goalkeeper earned around €1.2m per season and thus it’s a step up for him, which is an unusual career path for a 37-year-old. Notable players at Abha Club include Grzegorz Krychowiak and Felipe Caicedo.
