The five key battles that could win or lose the game for Milan against Napoli

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan take on Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona this evening in a game that could be key for the Rossoneri’s title hopes, as well as for Napoli’s aim of defending their Serie A title.

Having encountered a tough fixture list that led to defeats against Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, the pressure is on Milan and Stefano Pioli to get things right in Campania this evening.

One of the players Milan will of course look to is Rafael Leao, but he will need to get the better of Giovanni Di Lorenzo who is a top defender.

Over on the other wing, Milan defender Davide Calabria could be in for a tough night as he will be trying to limit the impact of Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

There will be a big test for Napoli’s Amir Rrahmani as he battles with Olivier Giroud who should start upfront for the Rossoneri.

In the midfield, there is going to be a job for Milan’s Yunus Musah as he tries to limit the creative impact of Piotr Zielinski who is able to hurt any team.

Fikayo Tomori may be pleased that Victor Osimhen is not playing for Napoli due to injury, but he must get the better of a different sort of forward with Giacomo Raspadori set to start for the Azzurri.
