Footmercato: Three French clubs alerted as Milan Primavera star nears contract expiry

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan may face a battle to hang on to Primavera defender Clinton Nsiala, a report claims, as a number of Ligue 1 sides are interested in signing him.

According to what is being reported by Footmercato, the fact that Nsiala is nearing the end of his contract – which expires in June 2024 – is alerting some clubs in France.

For the moment, discussions regarding an extension with the Rossoneri are at a standstill and this is a situation which has attracted Ligue 1 clubs, especially given that he scored against PSG in the UEFA Youth League.

Since his arrival in Lombardy from FC Nantes, the native of Rennes has made 47 appearances with Ignazio Abate’s Primavera (two goals) and 14 appearances in the Youth League.

Lille have asked for information on him, as well as AJ Auxerre in the event of promotion to Ligue 1 next summer, but RC Lens are keen too and have made direct contact with Milan management in recent hours.

On the player’s side, they do not want to rush into a decision, while Nsiala is currently torn between signing a new deal and fighting for a future at Milan versus getting more guaranteed game time not.

There is no doubt that the next few hours will be ‘decisive for his future’ as per the source, be that in France, Italy or elsewhere.
