Damien Comolli has been linked with the role of CEO at AC Milan in recent months, having worked with RedBird for a long time. However, as highlighted by a report this morning, the management is set to remain unchanged.
Gerry Cardinale has made it clear that change will happen at Milan as long as it’s beneficial for the club. Comolli had been heavily linked with the role of CEO for some time, but a meeting yesterday confirmed that this idea has been abandoned.
As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Cardinale flew to London early yesterday morning and had a meeting with Comolli. The latter entered the room as a candidate for the position of CEO, but common ground was not struck during the conversation.
Comolli outlined his plan for Milan, which involved bringing in new directors (most likely a new sporting director). At that moment, Cardinale felt that it was too much change for the Rossoneri, also considering that the current management has been working well together.
Giorgio Furlani, Geoffrey Moncada and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will thus continue to have very important roles at the club. Especially the Swede, who is Cardinale’s right-hand man for this project and one of the first big decisions will be the future of Stefano Pioli.
Jovan Kirovski should arrive to help set up the B team, while Daniele Bonera will be the manager of said team, but the first-team management will stay the same.
Media create their own narratives than shoot it don themselves… LOL!!! Comolli was never an idea.
