Samuel Chukwueze remained on the bench against Juventus until the 83rd minute, despite AC Milan’s struggles in the attacking phase. After the game, Stefano Pioli explained his decision not to give the Nigerian more space.
Chukwueze has been in positive form the last few weeks, starting to show his true qualities after a very tough start to the season. However, competing with Christian Pulisic on the right flank, he hasn’t always been given the chance.
After the 0-0 draw against Juventus, sending Chukwueze on with seven minutes to go, Pioli was asked about the winger’s situation in his post-match interview. He stated that it was mainly because he didn’t want to play with one less midfielder.
“I preferred Pulisic instead. Chukwueze is also doing well but at the moment, I won’t give up an extra midfielder to play with four attacking players and therefore, Chukwu is the one who was sacrificed,” he stated.
Pulisic didn’t have a whole lot to work with, in fairness, but his performance also wasn’t electric and one could argue that the substitution should have been made at half-time. With four games remaining, it remains to be seen what choices will be made.
Teracciano , chukwueze , jovic , okafor , simic .. these are all players who are not treated fairly . I don’t want to mention Caldara, Martin Bernhard here will accuse me of being his fan

He means he doesn’t want to bench RLC basically, since he’s more of a midfielder despite playing in No.10 role
He did recover well last game but he’s no 10. He’s box to box yet Pioli insists on playing him as a 10…
Puli at the 10, with Chuk on the wing and RLC next to Reijnders would be the balance he wants since Puli also tracks back.
But hey, what do we know? We only watch the same patterns game in and game out…
So he’s saying that he won’t play a forward in the CAM/10 role.
Therefore he won’t play Pulisic in that position. And in turn he won’t drop Pulisic for Chuk.
So essentially we see a line-up like the Lecce game again unless RLC is suspended.
He’d probably work out some way to use Musah out of position instead anyway.

Hei Pioli…you bench Chukweze because you are an idiot. Pulisic are not in a good shape in the last 5-6 games but you keep him in the first team. Chukweze instead are in a good shape but you bench him. It’s not the first case. You always do the same crap because you are a chicken and a stubborn , you have no vision. Okafor…same situation. Giroud hasn’t played anything since he signed with LA Galaxy but you have him in the first team even though you have Okafor much more eager to stand out. You have such a limited mind and coach abilities. I’m happy you will ve gone at the end of the season.
RLC is not an offensive midfielder. He is a mezzala and should be playing further down the pitch. 4-3-3 with RLC & Reijnders as mezzalas and then Adli as regista

I have seen Pulisic and Chukweze please together and it actually very good and why please Giroud anyways am happy u will be leaving soon cuz am very sure Pulisic is not a winger but Chukweze is a winger and if u don’t give him enough playing time how do u want him to perform? Fyi same Chukweze gave Real Madrid defence a run for there money twice last season so please just work more with him he’s a good player just needs time
