HITC: Chelsea, Barcelona and PSG on alert as €175m Milan star could move

By Oliver Fisher -

Rafael Leao is likely to leave AC Milan during the summer window and there are two clubs above all that stand out as being interested, a report claims.

HITC report that Leao is ‘ready to pursue a move away’ from Milan once the season ends and he will not be short of offers, given that there are a number of teams who continue to be linked with him.

Chelsea are ‘long-term admirers’ of the Portuguese winger having been mentioned as suitors in each of the last two summer windows, while Barcelona have scouted him over the last 12 months and PSG are keen on him as well.

PSG are expecting to lose Kylian Mbappe in the summer so they must replace him, and sporting director Luis Campos was the one who brought Leao to France with Lille back in 2018.

However, Leao could ‘potentially be part of Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling succession plan’ because the report claims that the English winger will be made available in the summer and thus a new left winger would be sought.

Leao has a €175m release clause in his contract which he renewed until 2028 last year, so the Rossoneri management could point to if any club decide to make their interest more concrete.

  1. This is the problem, many people say we can’t afford to lose another key player and replace him with a bunch but how do you keep somebody who wants to leave??

  2. Could be good because we can make 3-4 world class signings with that money. But the management will probably but 10 players for 20 million🙄

  3. This is pure CLICK BAIT for these websites and will continue to be until the summer he stays? he goes? ect.

The big question KNOWBODY seems to know or want to know is what’s happening regarding FFP I say this like a broken record because that’s all the club says regarding any big transfers regarding Ac milan no impossible FFP the stadium the fairy at the bottom of the garden.

Just how can Psg Barca and Chelsea continue to spend ? not to mention Man city ect we’ve spent over a decade complying with FFP and all the governing bodies enough is enough

Now here’s an idea how about we keep leao and spend 175 milion on improving the squad and get rid of the players that are not good enough for Ac milan including the coach and his staff who are also not good enough and while you’re at it have people at the top who know about football and know about Ac milan.? now mabe just mabe return Ac milan to where the club should really be .

Now I know just how much this concept will upset some of you and that the names of Berlusconi Maldini galiani should never be mentioned however any chance of keeping an open mind?

    1. I totally agree. It seems people here are selling Leao for the first comer like there are hundreds of players who we can buy with this money. Those players will put us 10 years back even if you buy ten of the them. A truly great club needs magic players, not just great players. We have just two such players. May be three if you count Mick, but I would rather get good money for him because goalkeepers are easier to replace if they are not Neuer.

  4. 1) It is likely that Leao will move on. It won’t be for 175 mil, it will likely be in the 100-120 mil range. Leao was really close to Maldini and when the mgmt made their choice, it affected other decisions. While Leao hasn’t said he’s leaving explicitly, he has said with Maldini gone, there is less tying him to Milan.

    2) Moncada will replace him with a cheap moneyball signing and claim it’s a world all star and he will underperform like the rest of the moneyball signings Moncada has made so far. Okafor (a Maldini signing, btw) has done well when he’s not injured.

Things are not going well in Italian football right now with the growth decree, England and Middle East obliterating salaries and with Milan’s poor decision making.
