AC Milan will be looking to bolster the squad with a centre-back in January amid the injuries of Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino. One of the names on their list is Konstantinos Koulierakis, according to a report.
Stefano Pioli was forced to replace both Kalulu and Pellegrino in the 2-2 draw against Napoli, with Theo Hernandez playing as a centre-back for the final minutes. Therefore, the management is looking to reinforce the team during the January window.
According to the Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos, who works for Sportime, Milan are ‘scouting’ the 19-year-old PAOk defender Konstantinos Koulierakis. The Rossoneri have been keeping an eye on him for at least a season back and could perhaps make a move in the near future.
Despite his young age, however, the Greek side have slapped a price tag of €10m on him and this might be too much for Milan. After all, the Rossoneri could also greatly benefit from bringing in a left-back as well and will thus have to work on a budget in January.
At the age of 19 he has already played 5 international matches and a combined 44 matches scoring 5 and assisting 1 goal over all senior competitions so 10 mil isnt really too much to ask for a young talent.
And why does Milan need him, for what? He can’t play in Serie A right away and Milan is looking for reinforcements because of injury crisis. It would be more beneficial to loan an experienced defender, who at least played in a top league and can be in the team quickly. Stupid transfer for this, they can buy him as a talent, but not what Milan needs now.
I mean just name the defenders and think about it. Simic, Kalulu, Thiaw, Tomori and Kjaer. Bartesaghi who also can play CD. 4 young players, Tomori a bit more experienced and Kjaer the senior player here. Why bring more kids, don’t they believe in Thiaw, Kalulu, Simic? 😀 It doesn’t make sense. If Kjaer leaves at the end of the season you need another experienced defender, they might just as well try and find one now and get him in January.
I’ll just reply to this one Tkoje, im not really arguing that we necessarily should get him but im arguing that 10 mil isnt too much for a talent like him. Well he is already an international and has over fourty matches under his belt so regardless of the talent in the club like bartesaghi or simic its propably fairly safe to say that he is ahead of them in his developement but up untill january those players will need to prove themselves or propably end up getting loaned out to further their developement,
I dont oppose adding some aging defender either though but as a dane i would actually like to see kjær stay beyond this season but we will see how it pans out in the end.
It isn’t much but don’t we already have 3 talents. Thiaw is still young. What can a club fighting for Serie A and playing in CL do to develop 4 young defenders at the same time? It is impossible, stupid move.
I wouldnt call it a stupid move and we generally do particpate in 3 competitions a year so i see no issues in having several talents on board and unless simic and bartesaghi explodes in the coming months theres a great chance that both will get loaned out so we doesnt stunt their developement.
Even if we bought him he could also get loaned out next summer and then sold for the double in one and a half years time. There really isnt much to lose out at in that deal if it is in fact ten mil that is their demands to sell.
