Kalulu’s brother lifts lid on difficult campaign at Milan: “Next season will be different”

By Euan Burns -

Pierre Kalulu’s brother has lifted the lid on what has been a very poor campaign for the French defender and promised that next season will be very different.

Speaking to Milan News, Aldo Kalulu shared some interesting details about his brother’s injury and the road to recovery which has been far from smooth.

Aldo is also a professional footballer, representing Partizan Belgrade. He explained that there were many clubs interested in Pierre before he made the move from Lyon to Milan in September 2020.

“There were many clubs interested in Pierre before his move to Milan. Thinking back to the speech that the club made to him, in this case by Paolo Maldini, we were really proud that he had chosen Milan,” Kalulu said.

Kalulu has spent effectively the entirety of the 2023/24 season out injured, leading many to wonder if he will be moved on by the club when the summer transfer window rolls around.

Aldo explained that it is the sort of thing that can happen to any player and he expects next season to be different, meaning he also expects Kalulu to be at the club next season.

I’ve already been through this… It could happen in my career, but the most important thing is how to react… I spoke with him and Gedeon [another brother], we will put things right and prepare him for next season which will be different.”

He was also asked when Kalulu will be back on the pitch, to which he said: “He’ll be back before the end of the season. That’s all I can say.”

Kalulu has played at both right-back and centre-back for Milan in past seasons and Aldo has a favoured role for him: “I’ve always liked him as a central defender, ever since we were kids.”

As for how much Kalulu loves Milan, he said: “The fans love Pierre and it’s a mutual thing. Believe me, he has Milan in his heart.”

    Grazie Paolo….

This is what we are missing. Perhaps Ibra can fill that void? Let’s hope. First test is to convince a young player like Camada
