Leao assures Milan ‘want to win’ Europa League and use Ibrahimovic’s experience

AC Milan got knocked out of the Champions League and will thus be playing in the Europa League next year. In a recent interview, Rafael Leao has assured that they will do everything to win, using the help of Zlatan Ibrahimovic as well.

Milan managed to beat Newcastle 2-1 away from home and while that win was important for the rankings, it wasn’t enough to qualify for the knockout stage. Therefore, the Rossoneri will face Stade Rennais in the Europa League in February.

Speaking to Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, Leao shared his thoughts on the Europa League and assured that Milan will do everything to win it. It’s a trophy that the Rossoneri haven’t won before but now they can use the expertise of Ibrahimovic.

“Europa League? We want to win it. Ibra won it, he will pass on his experience so that we can win it as well. Milan have never won it. With all my teammates, we know we have the responsibility of being remembered for that too,” he stated.

Many good teams are competing in the Europa League this season, such as Bayer Leverkusen and Liverpool, so it won’t be an easy task for Milan. However, it would certainly help limit the damage from an already disappointing season.

  1. With all respect, what experience does Ibra has winning Europe? NONE. I think they should put the feet on the ground and put the hard work to have a better 2024.
