MN: Milan decide not to fine Paqueta after social media post

By Oliver Fisher -

Lucas Paqueta will not be fined for AC Milan for his Instagram story which appeared to aim a dig at Marco Giampaolo, a report claims.

The Rossoneri head coach told DAZN after the 1-0 win over Brescia (via Football Italia) that Paqueta ‘needs to be a little less Brazilian at times’ in his style of play – a suggestion that he must become more disciplined.

Paqueta nonetheless started the game against Hellas Verona at the Stadio MarcAntonio Bentegodi on Sunday but was subbed off at half time in place of Ante Rebic.

He then posted an Instagram story stating that he is ‘proud to be Brazilian’ after the game against Verona, with many assuming it was a dig at Giampaolo for his comments.

Eduardo Uram – Paqueta’s agent – quashed rumours that there is any kind of rift between the former Flamengo star and his boss on Tuesday in an interview with TMW (via MilanNews).

Now, MilanNews.it are reporting that following the meeting between Paqueta and Giampaolo in the presence of Maldini and Massara, the situation was put to bed.

Milan will not fine the 22-year-old nor will they take any other measures.
