Thanks to their 5-1 win against Lecce this evening, SPAL have qualified for the Coppa Italia round of 16, where they will face AC Milan. As highlighted by MilanNews.it, though, it remains to be seen which venue will host it.
The round of 16 will be divided between January 15th and 22nd, with four games being played per week. For the Rossoneri, they will be competing in two competitions for the first time this season, as they decided to take a ban in the Europa League.
As mentioned, it’s yet to be determined who will be the home team. In other words, a draw will take place to decide the matter. Either way, Milan should be able to advance to the next stage with relative ease.
The two sides have already faced each other once this season, which ended 1-0 in favour of the Rossoneri. Suso came up big with a free-kick goal. Since then, though, the San Siro side have improved a lot as a team.
