Official: Bans handed out to Theo, Calabria and Tomori after Inter defeat

By Oliver Fisher -

The Sporting Judge has today confirmed the length of the bans that have been given to the players who were sent off during last night’s derby defeat to Inter.

As MilanNews relay, Davide Calabria has been given a two-game ban after he struck Davide Frattesi in the face with his elbow in added time just as a corner was about to be taken. He will therefore miss the away game against Juventus and the home fixture against Genoa.

Theo Hernandez has been given a one-game ban and a fine of €10,000 for his part in the altercation with Denzel Dumfries, who also got a red card. The judge states that Theo ‘grabbed a player from the opposing team by the neck and yanked him’.

A fine of €1,500 was given to Milan because two bottles were thrown onto the field by fans in the 16th minute of the first half.

Finally, Fikayo Tomori got his fifth yellow card of the season in the league and thus will also have to serve a one-match suspension in the upcoming trip to face Juve.

It was a night to forget for Milan who went behind to Francesco Acerbi’s header, then a Marcus Thuram strike started the celebrations. Fikayo Tomori’s late goal restored some hope, but it would prove to be just a consolation as Inter won 2-1.

  1. We have no defense against Juventus. Terraciano-Thiaw-Gabbia-Florenzi. Chiesa and Vlahovic are going to put on a clinic. This is a must not lose game. Hopefully Pioli can figure that out.

    1. I for one would be happy with the defence of Terraciano, Thiaw Gabbia and Florenzi. We have already suffered the highest humiliation with our top defenders against Inter, so they can’t do much worse, Been waiting to see Terraciano for ages so looking forward to it, 3 Italians in the team….Nice, I wouldn’t even complain if Caldara plays instead of Thiaw. Been let down by all the first teamers so why not give him a chance.
Problem is Pioli will prob play Musah at RB to block any progress for Terraciano.

  2. Unfortunately I can’t help reading these comments.
Where is the support for the team? It’s hate, bullying and harassment. Milan are number two. Yet nothing is good enough.
Maybe the storm coming from the media and fans is affecting some of the players.
Support the team. Be constructive, show support, give criticism, but stop the hate, bullying and harassment.
