MN: Milan’s predicted XI for Genoa clash – Chukwueze and Pulisic together

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will take on Genoa tomorrow and with Juventus still ‘just’ five points behind, the Rossoneri will be looking for a win to defend second place. As confirmed by Stefano Pioli, it will be a very attacking-minded starting eleven.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek picked up an injury last time out and will thus miss the game tomorrow. As Pioli stated during his press conference earlier today, this means that we will see the attacking-minded 4-2-3-1 once again with Samuel Chukwueze and Christian Pulisic starting.

According to MilanNews, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez will be back in the eleven after serving suspensions against Juventus. The midfield will stay the same while Alessandro Florenzi will replace Yunus Musah at right-back. Marco Sportiello will also keep his spot, as Mike Maignan is injured.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Sportiello; Florenzi, Gabbia/Thiaw, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Adli/Bennacer, Reijnders; Chukwueze, Pulisic, Leao; Giroud

Pioli also confirmed during the presser that Pierre Kalulu and Tommaso Pobega have been called up for the game. They have both fully recovered from serious injuries and could get some minutes tomorrow, depending on how the game pans out.

The game is scheduled for 18:00 CEST and the Curva Sud will be present, but there will be no cheering due to their protest.

  1. Maignan
    Kalulu, tomori, todibo, quilindschy Hartman,
    Amrabat, Salvatore Esposito, Reijnders,
    Chukweze, gayokeres, Mika godts,
    That would be wonderful team

  2. When we signed Chuk & Okafor within a couple of days, I was so excited to see a Leao Pulisic Okafor Chuk front 4. We’re literally going to go the whole season without seeing it once.

    1. That would be a very difficult attack to defend and would force almost every team in Europe to have to defend from a low block with fullbacks/wingbacks staying back.

If you leave ANY space in the back, our attackers look like a 4×4 track relay team.

      1. Yeah, I’m not saying it’d be ideal but we played it for the previous two years but with Brahim & Messias so I thought he’d at least try it. When he has tried it it’s only ever been with Giroud.

  3. Giroud again? WHY?!?! He is turning 40 and leaving Milan. We have Okafor in great form and exciting prospects from the academy and they’ll actually be here next season. Makes zero sense to keep an out-of-form Giroud as our number 9…
