Report: Milan retain interest in Real Madrid playmaker and could try summer move

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan were heavily linked with a move for Arda Guler before he ended up joining Real Madrid, but the interest has reportedly not died there.

Acccording to Real Madrid Exclusivo (via Radio Rossonera) the main competition that Real Madrid faced in July was from Milan and Barcelona, who had scouted him mainly in his games for the Turkey national team where he has already shown great things.

Then, however, he moved almost surprisingly from Fenerbahce to Real Madrid, choosing to join up with Carlo Ancelotti rather than perhaps picking a team where he would get guaranteed game time.

From then on, a lot of bad luck has followed including an injury in his first training session (a meniscus problem that kept him away from the pitch for two months) and another one after that as well.

Upon returning from the problem and finally becoming available in November, he then got a third injury. However, since the attacking midfielder returned he has had just 89 minutes in total spread over three appearances.

Milan remain admirers, and according to the Spanish source they might attempt an assault again in the summer by taking advantage of the good relationship with Los Blancos – as seen in the Brahim Diaz negotiations – and the competition he faces to get game time in Spain.

  1. Waste of time and money to go after a player who already picked another club over Milan. A teenage playmaker is not what Milan needs.

  2. I don’t support this move because Madrid will not sell. They will loan him to us to help them raise his standard and return just like Brahim Dias.
