Scaroni gives update on Milan investigation and makes declaration on Pioli’s future

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni has given some updates on the investigation into the club by the authorities, and he also spoke once again about the future of Stefano Pioli.

There are still plenty of important games left between now and the end of the season, but a lot of the stories surrounding Milan relate to the future beyond the current campaign.

Earlier this month, the news filtered that the financial authorities had arrived without warning at Casa Milan in order to seize some documents pertaining to the club’s ownership structure and the sale back in 2022 from Elliott to RedBird.

Meanwhile, Pioli’s position as the head coach continues to be talked about despite the fact that public declarations of support from the management have always been forthcoming, and another sign of faith arrived tonight.

Scaroni spoke to Sky a few minutes before the game against Fiorentina and his comments were relayed by MilanNews.

It will be an emotional night…

“I remember from the beginning Barone, he was a great manager, full of humanity, very determined, with a great love for football and for Fiorentina.

“He made an important contribution to Italian football, he always had his say in the Lega [meetings]. And then at Viola Park he did something wonderful. We won’t forget him.”

Any updates on the investigation into Milan?

“I don’t have any news, these things take time and we haven’t had any for two weeks. But I feel a climate of serenity, starting with Pioli and then all of us. Being calm is what matters most, I feared that these investigations would impact the team.”

You all speak well of Pioli…

“I have always said that Pioli is staying, because I like coaches who win and, since we are doing well, I like Pioli. Apart from the fact that he is a fantastic person, we are all fond of him and he is fond of us.”
