La Stampa: Calafiori, Camarda and more – Juve-Milan battle extends to the mercato

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will take on Juventus on the field at the Allianz Stadium tomorrow night, but there is also some overlap away from the pitch which concerns the two clubs.

As this morning’s edition of the Turin-based newspaper La Stampa (via MilanNews) writes, tomorrow evening’s game will be potentially decisive in the fight for second place in the table, given the five-point gap puts some pressure on Juve to win.

However, the duel between the Bianconeri and Rossoneri is also active in the mercato where they have several common targets, something that has been the case in years gone by.

In addition to Joshua Zirkzee, also wanted by Inter, the source claims that both Juve and Milan want to sign a new central defender and they are targeting Riccardo Calafiori who has been one of the revelations at Bologna alongside the Dutch striker.

Juventus want the Italian because the exit of Alex Sandro is imminent and the sale of Bremer is likely, while Milan would welcome him immediately with open arms, especially give the emergency they have in the rearguard.

Another shared objective is Patrick Dorgu of Lecce, but also pay attention to the teenage sensation Francesco Camarda who has not yet renewed with Milan and who is teasing the Bianconeri.

  1. Calafiori should be priority one for the defense. He is the perfect fit for Milan’s style and he is left footed as well. Can cover for Theo when needed
