TMW: Two free transfers and the big dream – Milan’s current centre-back wish list

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will sign a new central defender in the summer and there are a couple of different routes that the management could go down, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by Niccolo Ceccarini of TMW, the main efforts in the summer will go towards signing a new striker and another central defender to join the current group, especially given that Simon Kjaer is expected to leave.

Alessandro Buongiorno remains the ‘big dream’ but he will cost a lot and thus the Rossoneri are active on other fronts, including some free transfer opportunities as well.

The first name on the list remains that of Lloyd Kelly from Bournemouth, who Milan already tried to bring to Italy in the winter mercato without succeeding given the resistance of the English club, who did not want to lose such an important player during the season.

The Rossoneri directors remains active on the Kelly front but also have an alternative: Tosin Adarabioyo of Fulham. He will be free to sign for another club at the end of the season because his deal expires.

In short, two profiles to monitor with particular attention who could arrive for free, and that thus means funds can be diverted to other areas.

  1. Milan have Tomori, Thiaw, Kalulu, Gabbia and Simic. What is the point of buying another CD? Instead, if Gabbia keeps his form up, Kalulu, who has been injured for much time lately, should be sold for 25-40 mln. Also sell Pobega, Adli and all the players currently on loan. A decent DM is the most urgent need. After that a new, talented striker who can grow and become a top striker.

    1. Agreed. Though 40mil for Kalulu seems a bit unrealistic. As for a striker, we should give Camarda a chance. He seems the best the Milan youth have to offer. Depending on what Jovic and Giroud will stay or go, we could get another striker. A great DM is what we really need. A new RB would be great too. Florenzi seems on his last legs. Dont he will go on for another year. And Calabria needs a backup who wants his spot. Should put some more fire in his performances. Lead like a real Captain

      1. Camarda is 15, too young to put pressure on him. It could derail his development. I agree that a right-back is needed, preferably one who can play on the left as well if needed. It should also be seen if any of the youngsters (Bartesaghi, Jimenez etc) can properly play on both sides of the pitch too. Maybe the academy can save some money.

    2. Kalulu isn’t likely to stay. Tomori has had a lot more fitness issues as of late. And Simic is not a guarantee success. And then suddenly our CB list doesn’t look so assured. Why the concern for our team anyways? I’m sure there is a sempreinter site. Is Lautaro going to leave in the summer?

If you knew anything about our other defenders, you’ll see why we are after another CB. Also Kjaer will likely too.

And why woiuld we sell Adli? He stayed here long enough to make an impact and his performance was quite good today.

  2. So…Alessandro Buongiorno is the “big dream”…
Have we become Atalanta/Roma/Lazio since I last checked?
I am not gonna mention Scalvini for example, but dear God, even our dreams have to be mediocre nowdays…

    1. AB are the best defender in torino also surpass bremer , he is future starter with scalvini in italy nationality. 30m euro are fair offer for torino . AB are more better than kalulu ,thiaw, pelegrino ,gabbia ,kjaer

      1. So you are telling me that a 25 y.o. guy (1,5 older than Kalulu and 2,5 than Thiaw), with no high level excperience, is ”the dream” for our team?

and you are ok with this…?

    1. I heard them, watched them, and rate them. Not a fan of both team too.

Just because you don’t know them doesn’t mean everyone else don’t too.
