Tuttosport: Milan want Emirates to buy naming rights for new stadium

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan recently announced their stadium project in San Donato and the goal is to inaugurate it in the 2028-29 season. The Rossoneri are already evaluating the commercial aspects, such as the naming rights.

It’s clear that Milan need a new stadium in order to continue their growth and Gerry Cardinale is working very hard on the matter. If you want to read our three takeaways from the stadium announcement, check out our Substack.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan’s first contacts from a commercial point of view should be with Emirates. They are already the main sponsor of the Rossoneri and know the process of buying naming rights well (Emirates Stadium, Arsenal).

The whole stadium project is still very young and there have been no official contacts yet, as the newspaper continues, but Milan know that the naming rights will be fundamental from a revenue point of view. Therefore, they want to use their excellent relationship with Emirates.

In the meantime, though, the Rossoneri are focused on getting the all-clear for the project from the San Donato council.

    1. Lol what? 😂😂😂
      Never a full day here
Easy way to make money and ppl don’t want that but then turn around in the same breath and demand signings

  1. How much money are we talking here? 10 m€? 20?

This is two years old. So it’s not completely up to date. But it doesn’t look like it’s that much we would not get. Spotify arena is probably the most valuable deal these days.

But ok make a deal later on, but not immediatly. Let another name settle first and then sell the naming rights. That way noone would call it the new name anyway 😉

  2. If we don’t sell they naming right, what will it named ? San Donato Stadium ?

So i think it’s okay to sell the naming right. It don’t really matter, the important thing is we have our own stadium.

  3. Wow, how rich are you? I wish that I thought 20 million a year was pocket change.
In the US stadium rights routinely go for 8 figures for minor teams in small stadiums, and if you might have noticed Milan has a US owner who has experience in this area.
    Plus, every cent counts!

  4. Absolutely sell the naming rights. Make a bank too! Rossonero brand is surging up in market value & popularity. So our stadium once built should be an attractive project. Especially since the Euro might be played in it.
