Feronikeli 0-2 AC Milan: Borini and Suso lead Rossoneri to victory

AC Milan sealed the win against Feronikeli in their second to last pre-season clash, after Suso and Borini got themselves on the scoresheet in Kosovo.

The first ten minutes of the game were very scrappy, as neither side managed to take control of the ball. At the same time, both teams were very sloppy and gave the ball away soon after taking hold of it.

Fortunately, past the ten-minute mark, Milan calmed themselves and easily took control of the possession. However, the struggled to break down the opponents, who were sitting very deep for the entire first half.

After winning a free-kick on the edge of the box, Suso stepped up to take it himself. As expected, given his stellar pre-season thus far, the Spaniard converted the opportunity and gave his side the lead after 26 minutes of play.

Apart from that, though, the Rossoneri struggled to create chances as mentioned, which resulted in the scores remaining 0-1 heading into the half-time break.

Before the second half kicked off, Giampaolo made a bunch of changes, bringing on: A. Donnarumma, Conti, Musacchio, Strinic, Borini, Paqueta, Bonaventura, Piatek and Leao.

After just a few minutes of play, it was clear which Milan team performed the best, as they suddenly managed to break down the opponents time after time.

In the 58th minute, Borini doubled the lead after Leao provided him with a great cross. The Portuguese striker looked very promising in his debut, and could have ended up on the scoresheet himself.

Just three minutes later, Conti nearly got on the end of a brilliant ball by Bonaventura. As if that wasn’t enough for the full-back, he hit the bar in the 70th minute with a good shot from the right flank.

Then, four minutes later, it was Feronikeli’s turn to do the same, after Romagnoli made a mistake in defence. It looked like Antonio Donnarumma got a slight touch on the shot, but either way, it was kept out.

The Rossoneri continued to create chances but the game finished 0-2. Overall, Giampaolo’s men performed well, though one would have hoped for a bit more goals.
