90min: Milan scouts watching three River Plate teenagers

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s scouts are active in South America and they are casting a close watch over three River Plate talents in particular, according to a report.

There are quite a few Argentine talents who have landed in Europe in recent times and that is why Milan’s scouting network will be watching players from that particular region closely.

According to 90min (via Radio Rossonera), the Rossoneri are interested in three teenagers currently playing at River Plate: Ian Subiabre, Claudio Echeverri and Agustin Ruberto. Geoffrey Moncada and his team of collaborators face strong competition, however.

Subiabre is a 1.72m tall right winger who is left-footed and still 16 years old (born in 2007). He was purchased by his current club a few months ago for the sum of €300k following some excellent performances during the Under 23 World Cup.

Echeverri is already one of the most interesting talents of River’s first team, having already played four matches. He is a right-footed attacking midfielder, and has already scored ten goals for Argentina U17s, also becoming top scorer in the South American U17 Championship with five goals to his name.

Finally, Ruberto is totally different from the first two as he is a rather physical striker (1.85m tall). He has a contract until 2024 given he cannot yet sign a professional deal, and he scored eight goals at the U17 World Cup.

With Moncada at the helm and the appointment of Vincenzo Vergine, the pursuit of such interesting players from a broad may well become commonplace.
