A 3-4-2-1 and tiki-taka on display: Tactical analysis of Milan’s win over Fiorentina

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan had one of their more comfortable victories of the season on Sunday afternoon as they beat Fiorentina and kept a clean sheet.

Both goals came in the first half as Alessio Romagnoli’s close range header and Franck Kessie’s penalty put Milan in a commanding position that they would ultimately hold.

Kessie did miss a penalty that would have made it 3-0, but in the end the two goals would be more than enough to move the Diavolo five points clear at the top of the table after Roma’s defeat to Napoli later in the day.

The chance above ended with Saelemaekers opening up space for Calabria to overlap and a cross which Diaz hashes. A sad ending to a beautiful process.
