A Bola: Milan still keen on midfielder with €120m clause but talks are on hold

By Oliver Fisher -

Milan continue to be interested in Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis but negotiations have stalled for the time being, a report claims.

According to Monday’s edition of Portuguese outlet A Bola (via Noticiasominuto), the midfielder has ‘suffered the impact of the pandemic crisis’ which has seen the negotiations between the two clubs cool down.

The interest of the Rossoneri in the 20-year-old remains, but only when the seasons are resumed in both countries may there be the possibility of new talks.

With football at a standstill and with Florentino having fallen down the pecking order at Benfica, the sale of the Portugal U21 international is a possible scenario, depending of course on the costs and the structure of the deal.

We revealed in January that contacts were held with the Portuguese side for Florentino, with Milan wanting to sign him on the basis of an 18-month loan with the right to buy, with a €40m bid placed that was deemed insufficient as the starlet has a €120m clause.
