Abate explains why Milan’s retreat in Dubai should bring ‘positive energy’

By Isak Möller -

Whilst the first team is in Dubai, AC Milan’s Primavera side has been able to work at Milanello rather than Vismara in the last few days. Ignazio Abate, the manager, is hopeful for the second half of the season.

Milan’s Primavera side are currently in 12th place in the league standings, 14 points behind the leaders Roma. Abate’s men have shown good signings, though, as evidenced by their UEFA Youth league success (won their group).

Speaking to Milan’s podcast, as cited by MilanNews, Abate was also asked about the first team and how the retreat in Dubai can help them for the second half. He’s hopeful, just like he is for his own side.

“Personally, I think the experience of training abroad was very positive, very beautiful. First of all, because working in the heat always puts you in a good mood and allows you to do some specific work on the sand, and then because we spent days together from morning to night. And the group tried more. I hope this retreat in Dubai brings positive energy and a good omen for the resumption of the season,” he stated.

Milan will face Salernitana on January 4th and Stefano Pioli is hoping that his players will be back in good shape by then. Just one friendly remains, the one against PSV Eindhoven, which will be played the day before new years eve.
