AC Milan 3-0 Bologna: Player Ratings

STARTING ELEVEN

Gigio Donnarumma (5): Didn’t have to do much today, but all-in-all a good display by the youngster. Getting better and better with his feet.

Gustavo Gomez (7): Played yet another good game, not letting players past easily. Showed off some great skills as well with his backheel. Deserves to stay for one more season.

Gabriel Paletta (6): Won many of the aerial duels and played a big part in keeping the defence line concentrated. Didn’t even receive a yellow card today, which is a bonus.

Alessio Romagnoli (6): Like many others in the defence, he didn’t have to do much today, but stayed concentrated when needed. Without a doubt Milan’s best centre-back.

Gerard Deulofeu (6): Despite scoring the opening goal, Geri made too many mistakes to get a high rating. Great goal though, combining with Chilean Mati Fernandez.

Andrea Bertolacci (4): Not good enough by the €20m man. Got into good positions but failed to make anything good out of it.

Riccardo Montolivo (5): Solid display by the captain, but in truth, we did not see much of him. Therefore, although he didn’t make any mistakes, we can’t give him a high rating.

Mario Pasalic (6): Not a great first half by the Croatian, but he picked himself up in the second. Had a few chances to score, but the defenders stood tall.

Leonel Vangioni (7): Although he wasn’t fantastic in attack, he once again showed his tackles when defending, pushing the whole team forward with his interceptions.

Carlos Bacca (5): Mostly invisible in the first half, before leaving the pitch to make way for Mati Fernandez in the half-time break.

Gianluca Lapadula (7): Worked his ass off, as usual, in both halves. Scored the third goal for the Rossoneri in the 90th minute. A constant threat in attack.

SUBSTITUTIONS

Mati Fernandez (8 MOTM):
Fantastic, just brilliant. Made an instant impact when entering the pitch in the second half. Really showed why Montella likes him so much. Also assisted the opening goal, as well as the third goal.

Keisuke Honda (8): Great performance by Keisuke as well. Scored a fantastic free-kick goal and almost got an assist.

Patrick Cutrone (N/A): Didn’t get a touch of the ball, but great to see a young Italian that hopefully will be Milan’s future striker.
