AC Milan forward Rafael Leao has made UEFA’s list of the top 50 young players to keep an eye on in the calendar year 2020.
The 20-year-old joined the Rossoneri on a five-year deal from Lille during the summer and despite some bright early signs, the general consensus is that he has been inconsistent to begin his time at the club.
He was handed a rare start under Stefano Pioli during the 5-0 defeat to Atalanta before the Christmas break, and has netted once this season in Serie A.
However, there is no doubting the potential of the Portugal U21 international, and UEFA.com have recognised this by including him in their list of 50 young people to keep an eye on in 2020.
They reference his tag as the ‘Portuguese Mbappe’ and the fact that he has been labelled as superior to Cristiano Ronaldo at his age by Sporting youth coaches who worked with both players at junior level.
