Di Marzio: Milan optimistic over De Ketelaere deal but Mannaert is a tough nut to crack

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan still remain optimistic that they will crack Club Brugge and agree a deal for Charles De Ketelaere, a report claims.

Gianluca Di Marzio has published an update on his website Grand Hotel Calciomercato during which he talks about Club Brugge sporting director Victor Mannaert, who is also a shareholder of Club Brugge with a 17.5% stake.

He takes care of all-round interests for the club and does it with incredible meticulousness given that he is more than just a club employee. Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have discovered that he is a tough nut to crack, but they remain hopeful that they can agree a deal for De Ketelaere.

There have been no discounts offered by Mannaert and his asking price for the 21-year-old playmaker is €6m more than what the Rossoneri offered. There is ‘optimism on the closure’ of the deal, but of course the talks cannot go on forever and eventually a decisive step is needed by one side or the other.
