MN: Tanganga, Diallo and Gabbia – Maldini plotting changes at centre-back

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are on the lookout for the right centre-back to complete the department and to facilitate an exit, a report claims.

According to MilanNews, the names at the top of the Rossoneri’s wish list are Japhet Tanganga of Tottenham and Abdou Diallo of Paris Saint-Germain. Both players are not considered a key part of the plans at their respective clubs, and as such there is hopefully an opening.

Fabio Paratici – the sporting director of Spurs – has been in Milan for a few days and will have a discussion with Maldini and Massara to talks about a loan with potential for it to become permanent, with Milan wanting that to be an option and Tottenham wanting an obligation.

Diallo is a versatile defensive player that Pioli likes and who is also sought on loan. The Senegal international did not leave on the tour of Japan and remained at the training camp while waiting for news on his future.

In all this context there is the situation of Matteo Gabbia which could change. He would like to test himself by playing regularly in Serie A and then would return to Milan with an extra year of top flight game time under his belt.

  1. If Milan can’t get Ndicka, I’ll go for Diallo . His profile of player is needed more than Tanganga.
Tanganga is very similar to Tomori and Kalulu.
Diallo is left footed and can also play as a left back and we have no one to give Theo a breather.
Ballo Toure should be sold. He always looks lost on the field

  2. I’d rather keep Gabbia. No point to waste money unless we’re getting a top cb. Already missed Bremer and Botman so I’d rather not get the sloppy seconds here…
