Agent of Genoa defender fails to exclude exit amid Milan links: “We’ll see what will happen”

By Oliver Fisher -

The agent of Andrea Cambiaso has admitted that his client could leave Genoa this summer because ‘many teams’ are interested in him.

Our colleagues at SempreMilan.it recently reported how Fode Ballo-Toure has not convinced Milan and that is why Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are already hard at work looking for his replacement.

There are already three names on the list: Fabiano Parisi of Empoli, Andrea Cambiaso of Genoa and Aaron Hickey of Bologna. Cambiaso is having a breakout season at Genoa with four assists and a goal in 25 appearances, which has earned him links to other top clubs in Italy too.

Now, Giovanni Bia – the agent of Cambiaso – has spoken on Radio Marte about the future of his client, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“We’ll see what will happen in June. Giuntoli had already looked for him years ago but was unable to sign him and in the end he went to Empoli,” he said.

“There are many teams on him and we will have to evaluate with Genoa what is best for him. His deal expires in 2023 and at the end of the year we will decide what to do. The new ownership is foreign and perhaps they have different ideas from ours, we will see. Now his only goal is to try to keep Genoa up, everything else will be seen later.”

It is certainly an invitation for Milan to open talks and see if there is room for a negotiation rather than shunning the possibility of an exit.
