The agent of AC Milan winger Samu Castillejo has issued a response to speculation linking his client with a move to Espanyol.
The Spaniard has made just eight Serie A appearances this season, having featured in only 15 minutes over the last three games, leading to rumours that he could look to force a move away from Milan.
Calciomercato.com recently claimed that Castillejo has been approached about a return to LaLiga on several occasions but has chosen thus far to return to Milan, adding that he wishes to postpone a decision regarding his future until the summer and will reject any advances.
However, Diario Sport – as cited by MilanNews.it – claimed on Thursday that LaLiga side Espanyol are currently in talks with Milan to try and sign Castillejo on loan until the end of the season, with Atletico Madrid also interested.
Now, his agent Rafa Zurro has spoken to Calciomercato.com about what the future holds for his client, beginning by addressing the lack of playing time.
” The choices are made by the coach, we don’t judge them and they don’t change our intentions. He had a very positive moment but then he had to stop because of the injury.
“Espanyol? At the moment there are only rumours that we have read from the press. I can assure you that Samu wants to stay in Italy, at Milan. Even if offers were to arrive, this is our will.
“Ibrahimovic? Clearly he is excited to play with a player like Ibra. He told me he can’t wait to train with him. Surely such a player increases the level of competitiveness of the whole group.”
