Agent of €20m Alkmaar star speaks on client’s future as Inter and Napoli join Milan in race

By Oliver Fisher -

The agent of AZ Alkmaar midfielder Teun Koopmeiners has spoken out about the future of his client amid repeated links with a move to AC Milan.

Milan are expected to make wholesale changes to their midfield department this summer, starting with the departures of experienced duo Giacomo Bonaventura and Lucas Biglia on free transfers.

If the right offer arrives then Lucas Paqueta and Franck Kessie are also expected to pack their bags, which means the Rossoneri will need to bolster the ranks ahead of next season.

Among the names who have been repeatedly linked in that respect is Koopmeiners, a player has 16 goals and three assists in 42 appearances across the league, cup and Europa League this season as a holding midfielder.

He is almost certain to become a future Netherlands international, with Milan having been credited with interest in the €20m man, and now his agent Michael Janssen has spoken about his client.

“At the moment there is absolutely nothing, also because we are still and the clubs have to reckon because we speak of one of the strongest players in Dutch football, so it’s not like he can be a low cost operation, he’s a player who costs a lot,” he told Radio Marte (via MilanLive).

Interestingly, the same report adds that Inter and Napoli are also keen on Koopmeiners.
