Agent of Georgian winger confirms Milan ‘asked for information’ before Napoli move

The agent of winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has confirmed that AC Milan were interested in signing his client before he ended up at Napoli.

It was reported last summer by Metaratings.ru that Kvaratskhelia would continue his career in Italy as Milan were very close to completing a deal, with former Rossoneri defender Kakhaber Kaladze having assisted the operation.

The Russian source talked about well-advanced negotiations between the attacker’s entourage and Milan, but despite the fact he was on the Rossoneri scouts’ notebook for some time, in the end no concrete attempt was made and he has ended up joining Napoli.

Mamuka Jugeli – the agent of Kvaratskhelia – revealed in an interview some important market background on the Georgian forward that came before he decided to join Napoli, with his comments relayed by Calciomercato.com.

“We had a pre-agreement with Juventus, but then Paratici left for Tottenham. If he hadn’t gone away, Khvicha would be with Juventus today,” he said.

“Paratici wanted to take him to the Premier League too but only on loan and we didn’t care [for that]. AC Milan had also asked for information but only Napoli moved concretely.”
