Agent of Paqueta gives honest reflection on failed Milan move: “Nothing strange happened”

By Oliver Fisher -

Lucas Paqueta left Milan in the summer to join current Ligue 1 leaders Lyon after a tough 18-months in Italy, but his agent has not ruled out a move back to Serie A.

Paqueta joined the Rossoneri in the winter market of the 2018-19 season. His arrival brought great optimism, but it would be fair to say that his performances were nowhere near up to the level of those expected and his time in Italy was cut short having only one goal and two assists in 37 Serie A appearances.

The Rossoneri cashed in on Paqueta in the summer in a move which saw him join Lyon. Since arriving in France the Brazilian seems to be a lot more settled, the deal looks to have worked well for all parties involved with both sides sat top of the respected league tables and Paqueta finding some form.

In an interview with Tuttomercatoweb, his agent talks about his time at Milan and leaves an open door to a return to Italy. When asked about his spell at the Rossoneri and why he was not lucky he said: “It happens, in football and in life these are moments that happen. Today Lucas is happy, but Milan are a great club, with serious and professional people.

“Nothing strange happened, they are normal situations in football, in everyday life. Let us think about the present.”

His agent was also asked about if there was a possible future in Italy and replied. “This is not the time to talk about the future. The future is the next game. But Lucas really liked Italy. We’ll see.”
